Getting to Poznan by plane
Poznań-Ławica International Airport is located 7 kilometers from the city center. The airport offers direct connections to the largest air hubs, including Munich, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Warsaw. Thus, you can reach Poznań conveniently from anywhere in the world. Moreover, Poznań is one of the major hubs of Ryanair in Poland. Only this airline currently offers direct connections to 38 cities. The center of Poznań is conveniently connected to the airport by daytime city bus lines (number 159 – to the Railway Station) and night bus lines (number 222). You can also get to the city by taxi, located right next to the terminal, or Uber (clearly the prices for Uber at the airport are always higher). The ride takes approximately 15 minutes.
Getting to Poznan by train or bus
Poznań is connected to most cities in Poland and the neighboring countries by an extensive network of train services. Daily connections from other European cities are also available. Hence, another convenient option of getting to Poznań is to fly to Warsaw, Wrocław, or Berlin, and then travel by train, bus (e.g., FlixBus), or car to Poznań.
All trains and most inter-city buses coming to Poznań stop at Poznań Main Station (Poznań Główny), which is located just 2 kilometers from the Old Market Square. From the station, you can also get to the city center by tram or bus. The tram stop Poznań Główny is located right next to the Main station. Google works very well in suggesting the public transport option. Another recommended app is jakdojade, which also lets you buy tickets.
